3D Rage Pro & Rage IIc Description

ATI made a certain number of changes during the 3D Rage II: an engine new triangle setup, correction improvements of prospect, the support of the fog and implementations of transparency, the support d' specular lighting, and improved video reading and support DVD. The chip 3D Rage Pro was designed for the port Accelerated Graphics d' Intel (AGP), benefitting from l' execution in texturage mode, intubation of order, edge line addressing, and full 2 × protocols mode. Initial versions s' is supported on the configurations of standard graphic memory: jusqu' to 8 Mo of SGRAM or 16 Mo of WRAM, according to the model. The 3D Rage IIc n' was not based on a core Rage II, but rather a version at reduced cost of the 3D RAGE PRO. Rage IIc was integrated in a computer Macintosh, l' iMac G3/233 original (rev. A). Rage IIc chart NCV Rage Pro offered of the performances in the range of Nvidia RIVETTED 128 and accelerator of Voodoo 3dfx, but generally not succeeded in equalizing or exceeding its competitors. This, in addition to sound (beginning) a lack of support d' OpenGL, harmed the sales for what d' was praised; to be a solid solution of play. In February 1998, ATI tried to reinvent the Rage Pro simultaneously by re-electing the chip with Rage Turbo Pro, and by releasing a new rage Pro Turbo pilot-set (04/10/2312) which supposed is increased the performances by 40%. Actually, only pilots delivered a performance increased in the benchmarks such as Ziff-Davis 3D Winbench 98 and Final Réalité. In the plays, the performances really undergone. In spite of l' introduction the poor, the name of Rage wedged Turbo Pro and, finally, ATI was able to release the pilots updated without fall of performance in the plays. However, it n' there no tangible improvement of the performances of play following the rout had. The Rage Pro 3D is mainly sold on Xpert work @ or the play Xpert @, with the only difference being a port TV-out on the version Xpert Play @. It was also integrated in the graphic chipset in Sun Ultra 5/10 work stations, their data-processing model first to propose basic components material PC.
